For each application, both machine and tooling are individually designed to match the specific pipe material. The portfolio ranges from stainless steel tubes to systems featuring pipe loading lengths exceeding 40 meters. The machine concepts are particularly suited for applications with long production cycles and stringent requirements in terms of safety and reliability. Especially in complex and high-pressure piping systems, tube bending technology offers significant advantages over welding-intensive manufacturing processes.

In power plants, refineries, offshore platforms, and chemical processing facilities, piping systems are often assembled from straight pipe sections and separately manufactured welding elbows. As pipe routing becomes more complex, the number of required welded joints increases significantly. Each weld must then be inspected according to applicable standards or customer specifications. In addition, logistics efforts increase due to the handling and supply of individual components.

By using CNC-controlled cold bending machines, many of these process steps can be eliminated. A continuous pipe is precisely formed and automatically positioned for the next bending operation after each bend. This enables the production of complex three-dimensional pipe geometries with significantly fewer weld seams. Particularly in high-pressure applications, this not only reduces inspection requirements but also minimizes the number of potential leak points.

Robust machine designs safely absorb high bending forces and ensure repeatable results. Tight Bending Radii for Large-Diameter Pipes

Even for large-diameter and heavy-wall pipes, Schwarze-Robitec can achieve bending radii of less than 1 x D, depending on pipe diameter. This provides additional design flexibility and enables more compact boiler layouts with a higher tube density in the furnace front.

Specialized Solutions for Boiler and Power Plant Construction

For the bending of complete membrane walls, a standard requirement in modern boiler and power plant construction, Schwarze-Robitec offers a dedicated machine series. The FL series processes membrane walls up to 3,600 mm wide and 25,000 mm long using the compression bending process. Diagonal bending is also available as an option. This significantly reduces straightening and assembly work during boiler construction.
